Hello,
I am very new to photography having just started learning the logistics of it in May of this year. I have a Nikon D5100 18-55mm lens and a speedlight sb-700. I stalked UHH for almost 3 weeks reading the posts every day and then realized that yes it really was free so I signed up. To be completely honest however the information I'm learning is helping me so I probably would have paid a small fee if I had been asked. But they didn't and it is too late now! I'm very uncertain and nervous about my photos so it will probably be aWHILE before I ever post one lol. But all means keep posting yours I LOVE looking at them. :)
Look forward to reading your questions and answers,
mariposa

Welcome from the UK. Just jump in and post, remember as long as you like your shots thats all that really matters unless you intend to try and sell them.

Most people who love photography have an eye for it and a natural talent. You can always learn how to tweak them, learn shortcuts and new things to try. It's a lot easier and faster with these guys at your side, especially if you don't have to learn by numerous trial and error attempts! It's way easier to see what's right and wrong with others photos compared to your own. I added kids, remembering not all of the UHH are as old as the rest of us! I'm sure you have some very nice photos.

Welcome to UHH. I have on observation as the parent of a 35 and a 40 year old. You will have many, many, many pictures of the first child and not so many if any of the the second child. Of course with child two we were sleep deprived... he was not the easy child.

Sounds kind of pestimistic. You can strive to please most people. I have learn a lot here from help from members. David

Welcome. The only way to learn is to put things out there for people to see, and help you.

Is Mariposa your real name, or do you just like butterflies? That is what it means, isn't it? Welcome.
