Hello,
I am very new to photography having just started learning the logistics of it in May of this year. I have a Nikon D5100 18-55mm lens and a speedlight sb-700. I stalked UHH for almost 3 weeks reading the posts every day and then realized that yes it really was free so I signed up. To be completely honest however the information I'm learning is helping me so I probably would have paid a small fee if I had been asked. But they didn't and it is too late now! I'm very uncertain and nervous about my photos so it will probably be aWHILE before I ever post one lol. But all means keep posting yours I LOVE looking at them. :)
Look forward to reading your questions and answers,
mariposa

I posted photos right away and received some great criticism. I still learn so much from them critiquing my photos. I joined this a few months ago and started from not even knowing how to use manual mode to shooting in RAW now. Don't be afraid :) it's how we learn! And welcome!

Welcome to the site - have fun but don't be afraid to post a picture. We all felt like that in the beginning (well some of us did, some of the folk here are pretty good so they weren't afraid) but you learn by posting. Good shooting.

Don't be afraid to post! You don't even have to ask for critique. Post some pics of your yard, pet, grand kids, kids, vacation or whatever and we'll be nice and say which ones we like best and usually why. If you want some help, say how to shoot fireworks or the moon, ask or look for old posts. Look at others posts do pics, many include their settings so you can start from there. Look at the contests there are usually 200 great photos, to scrutinize for composition ideas. Browse, learn, participate, make a few friends and post so you can advance in your knowledge of photography. There are some very knowledgeable people on this site who can help tremendously. You are definitely at the right place!
