I bought 2 Canon 10 BL spare batteries from B&H...nothing like the originals. Filters I bought from both B&H and my local camera store where I got personal in-person service with the right filter and he made sure it fitted my adapter.

Marc :-)

Thanks Marc, appreciate it.

Literally, a pair of no-name batteries - eBay via Hong Kong, for $12.95 delivered. I hope I didn't overpay. :D

I'm using the Canon charger for both.

Don't remove the Photive right after the light comes on. The initial charge when new should have been in excess of 8hrs to get proper capacity set up. Some instructions will give you a certain time to leave them in the first time and that is usually at least twice the time it takes for the 'green' light to come on. I suspect that yours may improve performance if you left in overnight once.

I'm not happy with my Photive brand second battery for the SX50. Wondering what batteries you SX50 users have purchased? Thanks much.

Wasabi batteries made with Japanese (not Chinese) lithium cells.
High capacity, 3 year warrantee.
I've used them for over 5 years on all my cameras.
One failed to charge after 2 years, emailed Blue Nook (supplier) and received a replacement in 2 or 3 days for the cost of shipping.
Check out Amazon or eBay.

These 1200MaH batteries are the ones I use .... last a long time.

I keep a wish list of stuff to add "next time" ... never a problem to make the Prime limit ... there are sooooooo many things available & you can order them at 2am in your pajamas & the brown truck delivers them to the door ... my kind of shopping.

Have you noticed, though, that the free shipping items usually come by USPS on the final leg? Or maybe just to certain areas of country. I had one that was overdue, went down to the post office where UPS had dropped it, they said it was "somewhere" in the back, wouldn't look for it! (it came next day by my regular mailman)

Only really small or light weight stuff comes via USPS & if you "track" your order, you can tell which ones they are. The brown truck driver is on a 1st name basis with us.

Isnt that the truth...lol...

It kinda goes like this.

Di, do we need anything from Amazon?
No

Anybodys birthday coming up?
No

Have you started Christmas shopping yet?
It's June

Ya know I think our spatula has seen better days.
Blank stare.

I am going to plug in the photive batteries in and try a long charge. I remember from days past that lithium batteries have some kind of "learning curve"...but I dont know if that is still true.

I also have Photive but am getting pretty good mileage from it...
But my camera will time out after about 1 minute to save power...

You may want to check your settings... dunno...

In my experience it's always best to use OEM batteries (ORIGINALS).
