As seen down in South Africa over the Helderberg mountains

Rising over the mountains
Rising over the mountains...

And a little closer
And a little closer...

And then on the 24th....

Here are a couple from July 31 2012.

Also one from last night June 21 2013.

The first and third are of the same moon but photographs are a year apart. Guess not much has happened to the moon over the last year.

Did you realize that 1 and 3 are in the same position? If you open 1 then switch to 3 it looks like 3 has just been PSed. Great pix.

Nice Joe!! You can crop the Moon really tie and we will not yell at you.:):):) The 2/3's rule goes out the window with Moon shots.:) That will let you see more details in your shots.

I know. I just had to do it. We had lots of nice clouds all day and they were gone by 11 pm. I was looking to add a little interest besides a fullmoon

Thank You
I like the display of the craters on the moon. Sometimes hard to get.

Erv :)

Thanks Erv. Obviously I was reading wrong. However, your link points out that we still only see the one side.

I think the first shot is stunning. Tomorrow I'm going to try to do more than "just moon". We shall see if I can come up with anything even close to what you got. Cheers.

Thanks so much! We've had rain ever since.
