I'm not n IT specialist...I stll uuse a rotary dial phone and still have not sexted anyone on my cell but I think I've found a free vista to Windows 7 download site @ http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=20483
I don't have the nerve to try it 'till someone with more experience gives me a hand. But I think this will work
Thanks to all you weenies...
Even IT Specialists can't be all bad if you're iinto photography

Edmund,

That utility is for transferring your data and programs from a Windows Vista computer to a computer running Windows 7. It would be useful if a person has an existing Vista machine and then purchases another computer running Windows 7.

I would recommend that you download and run the Windows 7 upgrade advisor. It will check your computer for conflicts.

So if I'm a 30 year IT professional I'm "a computer weenie"?
I hope you never need to get your computer fixed.

Thirty-five years for me, but who's counting :) Never knew I was a weenie either. I just always assumed I had valuable expertise in a critically important area used by a significant proportion of all the people in the entire world. Good thing I not a doctor, I guess he'd call me a medical weenie.

you must be a sensitive computor weenie to boot !

Well, you continue to insult. You got yourself into this because you weren't careful. I doubt anyone with the expertise to assist (you know the weenies) will spend any time helping you resolve this. And if you are as ignorant regarding computers as you claim, you will certainly need that help to upgrade. And by the way, it's "C-O-M-P-U-T-E-R".

Next time you apologize you might want to consider not including another insult along with the apology, it pretty well nulls it out. Ooh. Sorry. Null is a computer weenie word. Good luck with your problem.

Not only did my upgrade to Lightroom 5 cost me $80.00, but I find it will not work until I upgrade my operating system to Windows 8 which will cost another $120.00 !
Adobe could have made that clear on their web site...
After all,I'm a photographer , not a computer weenie !

Please define "computer weenie" for us.

P.S. If it is about roast meat, I like large ones not weenie sized ones. So does my owner. On the other hand, forget the roast and just give me the raw meat....

The computer industry including software is continuously changing. That the way the universe is. We must change if we want to participate in life.

Why is it that when some one asks for help and they are given it they then have to start being rude. I do not see the point in asking if when you get folk take the bother of repling to the question to help you are rude in return. My son is a "computer weenie" and has a very good job and I am proud of him.

The OP is one of those smart alecks who thinks he's being clever when he's really being an a-hole.

Knowledge of your computer, and expertise in using it, is every bit as critical as the camera body or lens you choose for your digital photography.
