I'm wondering if anyone has this camera and what you think of it.
I've just discovered it and considering buying one
Thanks guys/gals
Although I have the Nikon P510 Bridge, the Sony SX50 is another great deal with great features.

You'll find a lot of users here...go to the top of the page and to search...put in sx50 and you'll find lots of info and lots of user comments..
great, thanks for that - just very recently heard of this camera and it sounds awesome.
Yep, been much discussion recently! Also lots of photos posted. I don't think there's been a negative word about it yet :)

I ordered one Thurs, and it arrived Fri. Nice camera. It's fairly small and light, but it is loaded with features, including a ridiculously powerful zoom. I'll be using my tripod more.
It can take all your pictures for a day and put them into a movie. Of course, you have to set the camera for that ahead of time. It has an electronic viewfinder and also an LCD that turns and swivels. You can use either or both.
I posted some zoom comparisons this afternoon. I think the title is SX50 Zoom Comparison.
Oh fer sur, a good buy...a $400 camera rather than BIG BUCKS.
I like the comparison shots between 24 mm & 1200 !
Very nice camera as long as one doesn't compare it to a full DSLR. I have one and use it occasionally when traveling and don't feel like carrying my 5D Mark iii and its lenses. The most obvious difference that I see in the photos between the 2 cameras is lesser sharpness and greater noise in SX50, especially under low light conditions. However, if I wasn't comparing SX50 to Mark iii, I am not sure that these would be that obvious. Anyhow, this isn't all that fair comparison in view of the price differential. SX50 is a convenient weight and size camera with a powerful focal range and features and generates good quality photos. It does give one's money worth.

Love my SX50.
I got one, unopened, brand new, on Ebay for $369.00 (retail was $449.00). There are some great deals out there.

I got one with my Discover card and got a 5% rebate, on a $399 purchase price, plus tax, of course.
I also been thinking of getting one, Lillian Stokes a noted bird photographer has been spouting about this camera and has been using it
Go for it! You'll love it!
Have also been thinking of getting one, but am also looking at the new Fuji 200. It is 2.8 through all focal lengths. But you can't go wrong with the canon.
