Are you implying that your father died in WWII? Is that where he was burried?
No. If he had died in the war I wouldn't be here. LOL I posted the cemetery, because it was the only image I had with the flag in it, and I mentioned my dad because I'm proud he served. :-D

Since this is Memorial Day Weekend.............let us not forget what the holiday is truly about.............those that have sacrificed for us to preserve the Freedoms that we enjoy. Even those that have even given their very lives for this cause. I would like to dedicate this thread to all those veterans of the past and the armed services men and women that are now in operation around the world preserving our Freedoms. I will start this thread off with my contribution and open it up to all the UHH members to post their creative tribute in the form of a photo.

My deepest, heartfelt thank you to Stephen and his family for giving the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
Here is something a bit different, from a period in our history that many have forgotten, or never knew and understood. This poster dates back to the depression era, after WWI (the great war) and before WWII.
This shows the tribute to the veteran, as well as the symbolic reasons that we go off to war; i.e., for our children and their freedoms.

Very well put alanenfl. Thank you for your post and thank you for serving in Nam. I also served at that time but was stationed in Germany. I appreciate you putting your neck on the line for us all.
