The email I received states the CS package is $49.95 monthly when paid as a full year at a time. I find no $10 price.

Look at Adobe's Website, find out the facts!!
If you update PS every two years the $20 ($10 for 1st year if you have CS6) is a good deal!

I am curious of how many of the people pissing and moaning about Adobe going to the Creative Cloud actually have Photoshop or the design Suite. I know a lot of people who couldn't afford the layout price of $700-$800 for photoshop or the entire design suite at $2000+ should be able to afford the $20 per month for Photoshop or $49 per month for the entire suite.

I had the Extended version of CS4,and I upgraded to CS5 for the standard upgrade price. When it came time to move to CS6, I would have had to pay extra to move from one Extended version to another. I went with the regular version. Aside from wanting more money, there was no reason for them to do that. I wanted to upgrade like for like.

It is $10 a month for one year and short of $20 a month after that, so in 2 years you have spent $360 versus upgrade every two years for $190. Sounds reasonable to me, I like to give my money to needy companies.

Why do you characterize it as 'a steep monthly fee'?
$10/month for CS, updated/bug fixed continuously is 'steep'?

I am considering purchasing this software since Photoshop is trying to put photographers out of business. I fear this may be the direction that all major software companies are going, Microsoft already is doing a program similar to Photoshop. Is the Nikon software easy to use?

This is amazing software, just check it out

I couldn't get the Download link to work for the free version, but it does work for the $70 one.

EDIT: I was able to download the paid version for a 30-day trial.

Try this. I still can't get the free version. Maybe they figured that they wouldn't make as much money selling the free one.

Adobe moving access to the "cloud"; to charge a steep monthly fee for access.

If you had purchased the latest iteration of Photoshop it would have cost you $600. If you did no upgrades for 10 years that would average to $5 per month! So $10 is steep?!
