I agree, it does not cover the complete tonal range, no real black or white. I hope you don't mind but I produced this from the coloured one.

I agree with Mooseeyes' comments. The window panes tend to break up the flow in the B&W and in the color version the panes make the viewer want to step inside to get the whole scene.
No comparison B&W hands down.
I like the color one much more as the colors blend, and my eye circles around the image as there are blues and warm tones to lead you.
The B&W, I look at contrast over and over again, the railing. I don't even see the walls or images.
