Yes, IR is a lot of fun, with limitless variations in PP. I had a D70 converted a couple of years ago.

If it were me (but of course it isn't) I would keep everything unless an offer came along that I couldn't pass up. By the way, I also have the D90 and D7000 along with the D50, D80, and D600. As you can see, I never get rid of anything. That is my curse.

Gee whiz Moggey, how can you even consider parting with such a faithful old friend as the '90'? Keep it! Friends are hard to come by - besides, you probably know it so well you could operate it in the dark! Keep it - it's comfortable with you :)

I was faced with a similar problem when I upgraded to my D300 Nikon. I sold my Olympus to the company I purchased the D300 from. they gave me a very good deal indeed. In lots of ways I wish I had kept the Olympus as a second camera, lighter etc.

I would certainly keep one of the bodies as a back up and sell the other. You can then upgrade one of your lenses with the money you get. Just my opinion, good luck.

Oh by the way craggycrosser dont be so hard on us all, I for one look forward to my daily fix of UHH but sometimes now I feel afraid to ask a question in case it is deemed as 'ridiculous' and end up just reading others points for the sake of it.

Keep them all. Get a bag and keep the 90 in your trunk. Thats what I did with my D50. Have an eBay bargan Tamron 28-300 lens on it and the Kit 18-55. It still takes great pics and I have it with me. - Dave

I like the idea of converting it to IR.

Hi Linda - or should I say "girl next door"? Sorry you feel I'm being hard on you. I can't say I get a "daily fix" from this forum, but do enjoy reading, smiling a lot at some people's comments, learning a lot about human generosity and kindness, about pure nastiness and greed at times, about humility and arrogance and about knowledge and ignorance. I will use myself as an example. I've only sold two cameras in my life, and when I tell you what they were, you'll wonder why I wasn't committed. A Hasselblad, and a Nikon SP. I've had some stolen, but when I feel I've got too many cameras now, I pass them on to my children. Unfortunately, now they sit around like vultures waiting for me to die. I am keeping my d70, d5000, and d7000.

Linda, keep on posting and reading. When you come to 'those' comments... it's easy to skip over them. Took me a while to learn who the 'agitators' are, but once you do, you learn to simply consider the source and move on. It's sad that they really don't have something more beneficial to contribute, but maybe that's all they're capable of, who knows? Keep at it... MOST of those who post or inquire on this site seem to be sincere and willing to learn. Many times, like myself... they don't dig back into past posts and ask a question that's already been asked... BIG DEAL! If those who are tired of seeing such a question don't like it... let THEM move on, eh? It's sorta like a big ol 'family circle' here and one can learn from some or be bored by others, but that's family, eh? Have fun and learn here on the hog. :)
