I used to live in "Lanson" Roydon Lane

Drive through there from Tavvy all the time for Widemouth and the Otter Sanctuary.

Little buggers attack you if you get too close to their nests in summer here

Yes I've lived in "Lanson" for years, but have never known so many gulls around the town as there are now. First thing in the morning when I'm walking the dog, I see approx. 100 congregating on the local playing fields, they soon move when we get there though. Haven't been attacked yet, but careful when looking up!!

"The Eurasian Collared Dove most often simply called the Collared Dove, also sometimes hyphenated as Eurasian Collared-dove is a species of dove native to Asia and Europe, and also recently introduced in North." They are numerous here, but pretty. I have a pair that hang out in my yard (of course I do feed the birds).

It's certainly not important, and the doves don't care, but for what it's worth, some of the books call them "African Ringnecks" (please excuse the spelling), or Streptophelia Risoria. They (and mixed breed offspring) are quite common in the U. S. too. They are easily tamed, like their snow white cousins, and make great pets (if you love birds). These are fine exository photos and would be excellent for inclusion in most texts.

They look like Eurasian doves or that is what we call them in Washington state. Thanks for sharing.

You wouldn't, by any chance, have Transylvanian ancestry? I would have expected bats rather than gulls. ; )

Such beautiful and calming birds. I have about six that visit me daily here in So. California.

Beautiful photographs.

If they drink without easing the heads up to swallow they are pigeons. I think pigeons are the only bird that can do that. Just a bit of trivia.

Thanks corryhully, they are beautiful birds, didn't seem too nervous, more interested in the food I suppose
