Hello again !

Most of the photo showcase/sales sites are international. Some require a seperate hosting site as mentioned before.

You could try some British photo mags which compare such sites.

Practical photography

Photography for beginners

Digital photography

Check google for their websites.

smugmug is good but I think zenfolio tops it for cost, and ease of use/set up.

it's 120.00 per year for the pro package that you seem to be describing.

That's what I am using. I really like it

Annie Girl,
i am after a site where i can display my images for sale. I a take many photos at Competitions and currently i am only using facebook. I need a site that i can sell my photos with payment facilities and unlimited up loads and so on.

I have had quotes up to around $4,500 so that is why i am looking at trying it myself i am only a new small business and can not afford a big outlay.

Thank you

I joined this photographic forum. For the annual subscription price of £39 I had a free photo gallery website thrown in.

http://www.ephotozine.com/forums

Display your photos, build your shop, get RRS feeds to increase the traffic to your site - all that you need is there.

Alternatively you can sign up for you own website direct with http://foliopic.com/

The site you build can be done on ready made templates, or you can design your own. The modules within the template that go to make up your site are simplicity itself.

Hope this helps.

I use weebly.com . Totally free, unlimited photos, easy to learn and use...only limitation is that no single photo can be larger than 10 megs.

I have been looking at his site...http://www.webhostingfreereviews.com/10-best-website-builders/?ad=g_uriretar_image_fixed
i found this page advertised here on UHH

could i make a reasonable site here please

Thank you in advance

Good Morning Magicunicorn, These are just answers to you questions. Not attacking you.

1st off the hosting site of Gator Hosting is offering I think $0.99 a month hosting fees. They have all the tools to building sites. Which they have a great program WordPress which is what allot of people use for Photography sites. WordPress is a great site building tool with capabilities to a store. I would use Paypal as the processing company too. They all charge a fees. It is just Paypal is easier to setup and use.

2nd Have you been selling any photos yet? Have you got contracts in place for sales?

3rd Google+ is a great place to have to show photos and/or Portfolio (Free). I read on here in a post about one person talking about starting a business and having an online store for his/her photos, well the old saying goes "you need to crawl before you walk, & you need to walk before you run & run before you jump" Why start out so big if you are not selling anything yet (that is if you are not). Overhead of a business can be very expensive on oneself if no income from business yet.

Sportsman140 thank you for your reply.

I have been selling photos for the last probable 8 months from my facebook site but its getting too big and so many people do not have face book and keep asking for my website.

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Kellie-Troy-Photography/384384324956457

At Present i have a direct deposit system i use or COD on delivery which seems to work but there are people asking for credit card facilities as well.
Seperatly i also work for Equine Excellence magazine doing there photos for the magazine but that is another matter entirely.
I am also considering changing to a new name when i get my site as i just use my name now - would that be a bad thing - i am thinking useing Equine Magic by Kellie troy Photography.

YOu have made some great points and i thank you for your help as i do everyone one here.
Thank you for your help
Kellie

Try www.clickpic.com has had good reviews.I am in UK, it costs about £40 a year and can be made I to a shop. There are others but you need to look and decide what you want it for.

I used ClicPic. It says it is really easy to install and use. I had an IT friend make the site for me, and she said that even for her it was really difficult. And once it was up and running, it was a real pain. Really an awkward site to use, too many restrictions, I could never get it to do exactly what I wanted: very nearly, but not exactly, which was so annoying. I have just got rid of it and am in the process of having my IT friend make me a personalized site.

Squarespace is about 5o-75 a year. It is very easy to setup and u don't need to know how to write code or have Wordpress. Easy drag and and drop. Also has options to sell ur work. Also has a lot of templates that are great for photographers.

Hi Kellie, that is great. I would then use Gator Hosting and then build with WordPress. I think it will be the Least Expensive way about it.

Several options depending on your computer know how.
1. a Domain or site name. ie photomaster .com
go to Godaddy.com and select your Domain name to see it it is available. you can use .com .net .org etc. com is the most popular for searchers. Cost about $10 depending on .xxx

2. there you can acquire hosting. someone that monitors the site on the web. cost about $120 per year. Godaddy, Hostgator etc.

3. go to WORDPRESS. the sites are free.. yes free You will be given a 'template' to choose from. and support instructions on how to build your site on and on. You can purchase better looking templates for small amount.

4. publish it and your are good to go. less than $400.

Note. getting your site high on the search engines is what is expensive. Beware that some hoster/builders know little about this area.

If your are using it to blog or put on business cards etc for local ads you will be fine. vistaprint is about as inexpensive as you can go for printing.

If you customers etc will be searching the web be easy to find via your domain name or spend larger $$$ for SEO. SearchEnginOptimizing. good luck.

visit www.isellnashvilleareahomes.com this is a real estate web site that was so easy and they train you weekly.. Great

contact me if a Realtor wants something like this as I get a free month each referral. Only like $25 a month.

Also investigate QR codes. free. scan with smart device and it goes straight to your site. put it on card and publictions.
