Annie Girl,
i am after a site where i can display my images for sale. I a take many photos at Competitions and currently i am only using facebook. I need a site that i can sell my photos with payment facilities and unlimited up loads and so on.

I have had quotes up to around $4,500 so that is why i am looking at trying it myself i am only a new small business and can not afford a big outlay.

Thank you

I use jimdo.com as it is free; my profile link will give an example, though there are loads of templates to choose from. It's really easy to use and uses Search Engine Optimisation so that you can be found on Google!

Pugh don't pay that much! look at smugmug and zenfolio both are great , will allow you to customize their templates and sell prints.

I think they charge less.than $200 a year for their top of line packages, I would recommend the middle of the road since you are just starting out.

both site will allow you to set up client galleries and password protect them if you wanted as well.

Check out the free or very low cost options available with Weebly:

http://www.weebly.com/

I've created several sites here, with no problems. You can start off with the totally free option, just to get acquainted, then switch over to a different option. I usually buy a domain name from 1and1.com for about $10 a year and design and host the site with Weebly.

smugmug is good but I think zenfolio tops it for cost, and ease of use/set up.

it's 120.00 per year for the pro package that you seem to be describing.

Some of the members of my photogrpahy club have had smugmug websites for years and are now switching to zenfolio because of the smugmug price increase. They are saying zenfolio is easier to set up, mantain and their clients are finding it easier to use as well.

Just checked Ipage. This is a Web hosting sites and charges 42A$ for the first year then ups to a about 100A$.
There is something wrong if some websiteis charging you 4500A$.
One suggestion I have is write down the questions you have, check with partner or friend if there are others. Then email the sites.
You will have to get a hosting site and the cost varies.
I think someone replied and suggested an all in one website?
As you are starting out try clikpic (175 pics). Ask about cost of setting up a shop to sell your photos. Good luck anyway. Let me know how it goes.

I have used webs.com for a few websites, it is cheap and easy to use and works well after setup is done. I have not used it for photos yet, but it should not be a problem. Webs.com is solid and good in most ways, what can be negative is that it is not very customizable for those who do not like to use templates.

If you want I can set up the website for you for a fair fee.
