But he DID NOT find a way, most likely precisely because he did not have access to something "better" than a knife

He wasn't looking for any other tool. It was reported that he has had a fantasy about stabbing people since he was 8 years old. It all falls back to most of these tragic events....It is a mental health issue.

Sensai and Teacher Paul Wakai Kawakami, expert black belt in 10 different systems. He also has B.S. and Masters in Business and Civil Engineering. He Studies with Chinese master from the China mainland, Mr. J.K.Wong who is currently in Tacoma Washington, Mr. Kawakami has been to camps several years for Tai Chi Chuan. He is one of the brightest people I know. He is successful in mastering everything he comes across. He had a Japanese American upbringing. With his diet, and exercise at 64 is still fit as a fiddle, and does not look anywhere near his age. I respect his views. The old world masters have a different view of things than we Americans. Military and commercial self defense training may be different, but neither matches the old world masters who grew up with Karate, Tai Chi etc as a way of life. I do have a son in the Armed Forces with NS Clearance. He has talked to me about his self-defense training there.

So what you're saying is we shouldn't try to prevent anything. Gun control does work look at New York City bravo to mayor Bloomberg and look at Australia after mass murders gun control was implemented and no mass murders since. Explain why anyone need machine guns that kill 26 people in less than 5 min. If you want to go after government related forces police etc a machine gun won't help.

I agree absolutely! Gun control does NOT work, and anything can kill, (given the motivation of the individual). It's an attitude problem which cannot be addressed by mortal laws!

Machine guns haven't been used in any "mass murders" They have been illegal to own for decades...Where do you get this info ? Bloomberg is violating peoples Civil Liberties by allowing unwarranted searches. Is that what you want? To be searched if you fit a profile?

the problem is complicated , school security will save more lives than gun bans will. funding of our mental health system will also help
banning firearms really won't save many lives, everyone is using sandyhook for their arguing point. fact is Adam Lanza did not use an assault rifle. that weapon was found in his car.

Oklahoma city bombing killed more people and no guns were used. the government could ban all guns, and the sick people will still find a way to kill

I believe it was a shotgun that was found in the car & it was the AR 15 that he used, but it is irrelevant as the AR 15 isn't an "assault" weapon any more than any other rifle or handgun could be in the wrong hands...I've got a close friend whose house backs up to Sandy Hooks schoolyard...He isn't for gun control any more than most folks & his kids went to school there. He thinks the recently passed legislation is nothing more than a "knee jerk" reaction to the situation. I sympathize with all those who have lost children due to violence no matter what weapons were used, but I'm also logical in my way of thinking & don't want to jump to ill thought out conclusions...

I totally agree. My HEARTFELT sympathy to anyone who hs lost kin to gun crime, but a legal ban is NOT the answer!

Oh Ok.. I've read reports indicating both.. regardless gun bans will accomplish little, just as drug laws have not stopped drugs from entering our country

That's a far cry from, "Talk to most self defense experts..." One person doesn't not represent most.

A ban will only keep guns for people who obey the law.
These are not the people who do bad things with them.
and if your not living under a bridge or in a cave you know this!

Any gun that rapid fires is a machine type gun ie assault rifle. You're quibbling over nothing.

From what statistics do you get that information or that's what you think. The NRA saw to it that a regulation was passed that the National health Institute couldn't research these issues. Guesss why.
