Now we need a law to ban knives, they hurt people.

Cars do too! Ban everything and we still will be in danger because Obama is still in office

But seems they do not kill as efficiently as guns, as no one died (yet at least?) So less important to ban I would think...

Most people do not own guns, I'll bet better than 98% of the country owns multiple knives, I won't go into the other potentially deadly items in the house or local ???mart store, Bob.

If you are right, it proves that knifes are not a big worry (many knifes - not too many deaths), while guns should be outlawed (few guns - many deaths), but somehow I feel that was not your point?
How crazy are you folks? I knew that someone would use this horrible incident to spin it into an anti-gun control statement.
Yes, this guy used a knife, but how high would the body count have been if he had a semi-automatic rifle and would he have been stopped by students?
Then I see postings about banning cars and blaming Obama?
Really?
Take a reality check and step into the light.
The problem is not the tool, or weapon, it's the person behind the tool. If someone wants to kill he or she will find a way. "We need to address the issue long before the individual looks for a gun, knife or car to use to kill! Bob.

But he DID NOT find a way, most likely precisely because he did not have access to something "better" than a knife

Guess they were lucky that he was inept or dumb, any supermarket will sell anyone a lethal weapon, address the problem, Bob.
I would have loved to hear the screams if some young lady pulled a pistol out of her purse and blasted his sorry ass.
BUT - he liked dolls and was a nice guy. This will disappear quickly.

Wow when we try to outlaw what criminals and crazy use we are in trouble.
So by your way of thinking all jumbo jets must be grounded.. remember 9/11 god we cant have that again.
ANd all vans and fertilizer as well, remember Oklahoma City
All high school sports, more die by far in that pursuit than all the assault weapons deaths in this country ( i use your term ASSAULT rifles...ugh )
Do you see how silly and useless this line of thinking is. in a short time we would all be wrapped in bubble wrap. You cannot prevent those who wish to do awful things by simply banning something.
Simply banning anything doesn't keep a person from getting it IF they desire to do so. Drugs are illegal but it certainly doesn't keep people from getting them. Criminals are ALWAYS going to find a way to do what they set out to do. I believe we should also have a right to protect our home however necessary.
I guess looking at it from your point of view, there was no need to pass laws regarding lead paint. The lead paint wasn't killing children, the kids were stupid and ate the paint, right?
I'm not naive enough to believe that "banning" (they argument in Washington isn't about taking away all of our guns) guns will stop someone from killing others, but a "ban" on certain types of guns and ammunition will save many lives. Isn't that what it's about, saving lives?
And for all of you ready to jump on me being a liberal, think again. I am a former Marine, and a retired Correction Officer who was also a shooting instructor. As for politics, I look at issues, not party lines.
