As indeed I do too. That's what I love about this site. We can take it where we choose to, via advice from members and equally from the useful links that many provide.

Koalas eat a specific species of eucalypt leaves that ferment in their stomach. Consequently they sleep a lot from the alcohol generated, so getting a shot of them 'sober' is rare. My lucky day. This shot was taken last week at the Western Plains Zoo at Dubbo in New South Wales Australia. Hope you like. C&C welcome.

He is absolutely adorable 2bob and you did a fine job!

Love it! Petting a koala was high point of visits to Australia. Incidentally, somewhere I have video I took of a very energetic koala. If I recall correctly, it jumped from one tree to another and then actually ran around the pen for a minute or two at a very good clip. *LOL*

Good one 2bob. Just got back from Dubbo ourselves & the koalas were curled up high in their trees & barely recognisable but we loved Western Plains & also recommend the nearby Pilliga Scrub at Baradine, if you're into birds.

love the koalas and interesting info. Never knew that, but would explain why they seem docile.

Thank you Aussiegirl. Indeed, it is a great zoo. I made the 400klm trip from Sydney specifically to go there. Wish I had known about Pilliga Scrub though! Next time.
