Check out cam ranger, I am using it on a 7000. With I pard mini I think they do android too. It's great, love view, set all exposure modes and settings also allows my 7000 to,take an HDR with 9 shots to the 3 Nikon limits me too. I have been using it to shoot stars on these cold nights while I sit inside watching TV.

It sets up a local wifi network

Your Android tablet has to be capable of being a USB host. Several Samsung Galaxy devices support this, most other tablets don't. Google your tablet model + USB host to find out. Also see this post: http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-83435-2.html#1411332

Do a Google search for "nook usb hot mode" and read any about your model. From what I see some Nooks are able to do host mode. If yours can you MAY be able to use helicon for remote control.
