Our freedom is due to all that gave and are still giving right now. These are the REAL HERO'S IN THIS WORLD.
Vietman,68-69,you all do not need to know what i did there, sometimes i don't either. But if bobmielke gets to read this, think of this the next time you post something as stupid as hate,,"Nothing in life is so exhilarating as to be shot at without result"...To my fellow vet,he will never know.
To each one of you who have served...THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.

Had quarters at Schofield. The 25th Infantry Div had just been sent to Vietnam which opened up plenty of housing. We spent much of our free time touring the Island and swimming on the many different beaches.

Just out of the press and sent by my wife...
. Sailors Setting the Example: According to Larry Kendrick, Pensacola International Airport Ambassador, on 25 Nov three Navy recruits fresh from Great Lakes arrived at the airport enroute to Naval Air Technical Training Center (NATTC) for training. A man in the terminal gave each of them a $100 bill, which they in turn provided to the USO donation box. The spirit of Thanksgiving was truly demonstrated by these young Sailors.
U.S.A.F. From 1962-1966 Stationed at Sheppard AFB for Jet Engine Mechanics. Then sent to Plattsberg, N.Y. with SAC, and the 8th AF. Plattsberg was next to the last bases to have the B-47. Also had 12 Atlas Missle Silo's.
Later I spent 20 years as a Paramedic, in Polk County Fl.
71-78 Army, basic Ft Dix, AIT Ft Gordon Ga, Served 39 months 33d Signal Battalion Fort Richardson Alaska 3 years Fort Jackson SC.
USAF 1965-1969 Air Force Communications service, Lindsey Air Force Base, Wiesbaden, Germany. Loved Europe, Then got sent to a remote communications site on a mountain top in Turkey. 1 Year on a mountain top and the winter conditions were considered Artic to say the least. By end of winter had over 14 feet of snow on the ground. Wasn't bad I thought, then in the summer boredom set in, and I realized that there were places you didn't really like. Enlistment ended and I came home to find that Vietnam era vets were not thought very highly of by the folks back home. Booy, what a slap in the face that was, still hurts. I am gald to see that attitude has changed towards present military personel.
