Just for the sake of argument, how about doing a bit of PP and either blurring the background a bit more, or removing the green lines, and cropping to offset the main orchid, then reposting....that would give everyone a real look at which one they like best.

I go to a local greenhouse here on LI, they have similar orchid house , as you know, I have considered using black background but the rules are a little sketchy.
Your image here is striking, a black background would really set it off. That said the image stands well as is.
I might have centered the image a bit more,

Going to Planting Fields in the morning, maybe I can match your shot!

Thank you for commenting Coco, always appreciate your thoughts. 8-)

The flower is so colorful and beautiful, it needs no background distraction. A completely black background does the flower justice. Otherwise, a great photo.

Thanks Harry for viewing and commenting. 8-)

I would make all of the background black, lighten slightly the blossom, and re-crop. But, you should follow your own leanings!

Thanks for opining Wanda. 8-)

I would take them out, Bmac. They distract from the subject which is a lovely shot, by the way.

Hi Bruce,
Thanks for your comments. I also like the orchid house in Planting Fields, a great place to spend time. As for you matching my shot there, that should be easy for you! Have fun. :-)

I like it very much but the green stem going through the leave on the right is disruptive to me. The diagonals work for well me. The background camera right give visual interest to the image. One thing I would try is to give the top of the flower a little kick to camera right instead of a full vertical.
