CVS to workers: Tell us how much you weigh or it'll cost you $600 a year

Government micro-managing private lives is wrong IMO. I take great offense when government can tell me what to eat, how much to eat, and otherwise take my right to choose from me. It is my right to make poor choices and since there is also debate at this time about what actual "healthy" weight is, I don't think it's anybodies business if I'm 30 pounds overweight or 30 pounds underweight.

You would go to the doctor who would certify the amount of calories you need.

Ahhh yes, big brother is watching you. Orwell's 1984......Automatons.......robots. Everyone must think the same thoughts, must live the same way. Books are banned, and burned. (that did happen in pre war Germany) Churches of all denominations are burned. One must live for the state. WHERE DOES IT ALL END FOLKS.....?

As long as folks let themselves get fat get weak and get lazy they need someone to look after them. I wouldn't blame any employer that refused them insurance or charged them a penalty each month.

I have made a life study of this since I am overweight. Weight loss is almost never successful in the long run. (look at Oprah) The weight is is easy for most. The problem is keeping it off. The 5 year recidivism is about 95%.; Studies show it is more unhealthy to lose and gain weight that to just keep the weight. I am a psychologist who has tried every trick in the book. and nothing created a long range success.

Interesting: This is SF again. Do they get weighed as they cross the Golden Gate or The Bay bridge?

This is the "Land of Unintended Consequences"

I think everyone should take an IQ test, and if they're stupid, they shouldn't be allowed to reproduce. They also obviously need someone to look after them. Perhaps we should have yearly exams where the government culls those deemed unfit to live?

I am a public school teacher. Starting last year we have to go to our doctor each year (paying for it ourselves) for a "health screening ". It includes weight, cholesterol, BMI, and blood pressure. It is required by and submitted to the health insurance company. My question is, why? They say its to help us manage our health, but I wonder what they are really going to do with my private information. It is what Obamacare is requiring of the health insurance companies. I can't wait to find out what's next. I'm sure people's health insurance premiums will be based on these tests. Oh by the way, we also have to take a detailed questionaire that includes fairly detailed questions about any depression or mental health issues we have. I think it's very intrusive. I can understand a company asking prospective employees this, but not a health insurance company. I've NEVER had to do this before. I do not like it at all.

Both of us was. There is no substance to my statement, just wanted to see how long it would take for the blame to be put on our President.
