Why are Nikon DSLR's so much better than canon? Those who use Nikon are real photographers. Is it because a Nikon looks like a purposeful instrument whereas a canon camera reminds one more of a potato? Canon always seems to play second fiddle.
Canon is used by MANY photographers, but they just don't have the HUGE egos that Nikon users do!!
That is a very good question! I also think the Nikons seem to take better photos. The only reason I don't buy Nikon (yet), and I hope no-one takes offense on this comment, is that I read on an animal rescue causes blog that Nikon supports bull dog fighting... How true that is I'm not sure yet, but I'm trying to find out. However, it doesn't change the fact that I also think their DSLRs take better photos. I wonder if anyone has an answer to that. :)
I shoot Nikon and still would not agree with you. It's more the photographer than anything else. I'm still squeezing better performance form my camera and lens combo's. I guess your trying to make a funny??
I will say this, most Canons ( the 5D mk III in particular) excell in low light/high ISO conditions. Picture quality is more a result of the photographers skill than their equipment. That said, I prefer Nikons, but if $ was not an issue, I might be swayed by the 5D mk III

Is it April Fools yet??? I shoot Nikon and still do not agree with what you have stated. Like fstop22 has already stated" It's more the photographer than anything else." Now, that is a statement I can agree with!!!
I would say, You all just guessing. Canon or Nikon what is better?. I would say the cameras are equal, It appears to me who is shooting the best glass that is attached to the camera, That is what makes the best quality photo.
Hey Doc ..... here we go again

I'll toss this unwanted opinion in: As a Kodak user, someone who has never used either brand and probably never will use either brand, going on several months worth of comments from three different camera forums, I would choose Canon.

Sure is too bad that Kodak dropped the ball and then quit with the cameras.....
I have had several of their P&S as well as a couple bridge cameras. Still have a Kodak z980, but don't use it much since getting my Canon SX40 & now the SX50. Still am amazed at the quality of that awesome glass that Kodak used! And the features were more advanced than any similar camera in the same price range.

That may have been the most accurate thing I've ever read on the internet.
