Check in your state for a veterans representative. They are there to insure you get any benefit/support you need.

Sarge,I'm glad that after reading your problems with the VA
that when I applied for VA benifits that they told me that they were sorry, that I waited too long to apply for benifits.
I served our country in 1963-1966
My comment to the VA Rep. "So I guess you won't bury
me when I die cause I waited too long?"
Yep. You only got 10 years, which is stupid because you're in fairly good health when you get out of the military so who thinks of getting medical care?

Here's a hint I used today. Tell the desk you have a complaint and they will send you to the Veterans Advocate which is on-site.
I explained what was happening and within 30 minutes I had signatures and info on the forms. Now to get them to eScripts under Tricare and get prescriptions more than cheap. My last batch at the VA (5 out of 6) cost $122.17 for a 3 month supply. Normally under Tricare it's about $29.00
At least I got my forms filled out correctly. And they were filled out by ' gosh - gee ' the VA Director at the facility, not my Personal Care Physician.
Squeaky wheel ? You better believe it. Of course the nurse doesn't like me now but she's not involved in any proctologist work.

thanks ,, i will try that next time. doug

NOT true for Viet Nam era vets who served "In Country" or "On Station". Might be true for vets who never received combat pay.

The new Veterans facility in Cape Coral FL.
Brand new and full of STUPID
Brought 3 forms with 2 presecriptions on each that needed my doctors signature to process through Escripts which handle prescriptions for veterans TriCare for life.
Brought them out there on the 26th of February to Records Release, showed them areas that needed filling out by my Personal Care Physician.
Come March 7th I call and nobody knows anything about my forms. Second call is to my docs nurse April and she says 'Oh yes, come out here (12 miles) in 2 hours and pick them up.'
I gave them an extra 1/2 hour and went out. Huh ? What papers? Repeat story, ask for April. 'Oh she's at lunch ( it's 2:30pm) Come back in 30 minutes.
At 3pm I go back and wait until 3:30pm when April comes out smiling and hands me the three sheets of paper. I look at them and ask "Will they believe the signature on the top page is also applicable for the 2 other pages which are blank?"
April huffs and takes my 3 sheets. I wait another 1/2 hour and she comes back smiling and gives me the papers. The 2nd and 3rd do not have the same signature on them as the first. She says 'No Problem'
I'm going to go back out tomorrow, the 11th and ask April to give the forms to the Doctor again so he can fill in the part that says 'Doctor/Prescriber' Name - Address - Phone or Fax'
Wonder how long that will take and if someone there speaks and also reads english.

Why does the VA spend millions to put up a beautiful up to the minute facility, and then staff them with idiots. PB county has the same problems. I think they only gove jobs to those who fail the tests.
