Well, again, if I insulted you or offended you, it was not my intention. I sometimes am a bit over enthusiastic about my lack of respect for religion, and I should remember the good people that still believe may be offended. My bad. I hope I have your forgiveness.

You have not offended me. We all have our beliefs. And I respect yours..It just seems as though the Christian belief is the least tolerated in our beloved country which was founded on the Christian belief system.
You have a good night.

We are told to be tolerant...But, if you're a Christian, don't expect the same respect of tolerance. Christians are being persicuted more and more while we are told to tolerate all other walks of life...Gnslngr...I don't expect we will ever agree on this either so don't even try. We know how you feel. My only question is this....Why don't Christians get the same respect that we are suppose to give to other groups? And if our faith offends you, why don't you just turn your heads the way you do for other groups.
I'm not a Jew, but if I see the Star of David, I am not offended. Why are atheist affraid of the cross or anything else that represents Christianity?
One more thing...Why are we as Christians not protected from hate speech as other groups?

I don't hate Christianity or religion, Eugene. Religion and Christianity hates me. They started it - they call me a non-believer as a pejorative term and denigrate my nontheism. Years ago, they tortured guys like me.

They put the symbols of their clubs and churches on my government buildings for my children to see, as though my government endorsed this stuff. They force my company to close on holidays (holy days) like Christmas and Easter, that celebrate something I don't believe in and cannot be convinced of. And as happy as you are in the cocoon of your faith I am in the freedom of my atheism, though believers always call my kind dour and depressed when we are, according to studies, much happier than those with faith.

I am a minority. I cannot openly seek the presidency of this country because my atheism would never be accepted by enough Americans to put me in. I am shunned by Christians because of my denial of their faith, and I am made to feel uncomfortable every time a prayer is publicly prayed and I stand silent.

So Eugene, if I seem intolerant of Christianity it is simply because Christianity has, time and again, proven itself to be intolerant of me. My hope is that you don't take it personally.

John 3:16 says it all. God is waiting for YOU; when you seek Him, you will find Him. Christianity is not the issue. Seek Him above all else. Love ya, Ginsinger/Eugene. (I have a number of the Hogs on my prayer list; proudly adding you to it.) Have a beautiful week!

No standing because the cross is on private land and owned by a non-for-profit corporation. Thus, it can be displayed.

Why don't you people read up on things.

Possibly to simply piss you off? After all it is incredibly easy.

Wuz.....the Mojave War Memorial Cross, after a 10-year legal battle, has been replaced. The deal involved a land swap of private and federally-owned land. Victory!

Our Constitution and our Government are non denominational and a religious. There is no mention of God in our Constitution or a mention of any religion in our Constitution and our Constitution is the governing body of law under which we live.

I do not want your tax dollars supporting my beliefs or lack thereof and I am sure you do not want my tax dollars supporting your beliefs.

Lets keep religion out of the public square and in the hearts and minds of those who believe and vice versa.

AS for the war on Christianity in the US what a bunch of hooey! Good for Bill ORielly's show and Faux News but bad for the nation.
