Don't get it wet ! There's a specific warning from the manufacturer about using a Lenspen on anything damp as it wrecks the tip...
and don't breathe on the glass either, lenses should be seen but not huured :)

I got a $20 coupon from Best Buy, so I went in today to use it. It's not easy buying something worthwhile at BB for $20. I wound up with the Lenspen, neoprene case for my laptop, and a case for my iPad - all for $25.

I've seen members make favorable commments on the Lenspen, so I thought it would be a good addition to my lens care kit. Those goat hair bristles are very smooth.

These are nice to have when out in the field and you get a stubborn speck that won't puff or brush away.

Okay, but what good is it if it has dried out?

I think they may just wear out not dry out, someone may correct me but I understand that the pad's coated with a unique carbon
compound and there's no moisture involved. I guess that coating can't last forever.
The Lenspen people claim 500 cleanings and that carbon molecules have the ability to absorb large quantities of oils & contaminants.

After using the wide end, you are supposed to put the cap back on and rotate it a few times. This will transfer carbon from the cap to the pen, getting it ready for the next use.

I didn't know that.. Just had a look at the screw-cap on mine and it has a sponge pad in the end, that must be the 'carbon storage facility'..

Hope you didn't test the brush on your skin ! Picks up the grease and oil and that transfers to your precious glass. I don't understand why Lenspen don't supply a cover for the bristle end.

They do the brush is retractable. At least mine does.

Lucky you to get $20. I only got $10! Almost bought the lenspen but ended up adding another $10 and got the remote wireless shutter control for my 60D. I'm sure it will help if I get back into macro shooting. Merry Christmas. Virgil

I was being economical with my words when I said I got a $20 coupon. I actually got two $10 coupons. I must have two of those BB savings cards, so they sent me two. :D

Got my first set of Lens pens today.Did not care for the brush that came with my camera,T4I, as part of the kit. Picked up the Lens Pen DSLR pro Kit today from best buy.
Has anyone tried to use the round felt end for cleaning the mirror in your camera?
I have tried the blower method and that doesn't work. What ever is on there doesn't come off that easy.Think it might be a little difficult to use the round end of the brush as the mirror is on an angle. Also probably would not be a good idea to put too much pressure on the mirror anyway. Comments welcome. Tim

I'm never happy about touching the mirror, I've seen some dreadful results, being surface-silvered they scratch really
easily and you can't un-scratch them. The crap on the mirror looks untidy but doesn't affect the image, if a light brush doesn't fix it IMHO I'd leave it be..

Your thoughts on the mirror were mine too. I have numerous telescopes and would never use something like this to clean those mirrors. I was at a local camera shop today when the guy mentioned using the Lens Pen for this. Did not think it was a good idea so thought I would ask here first. Thanks, Tim

It doesn't dry out!!!
Do you still have the card that the lenspen was packed on?
Please, read the instructions carefully.
If you no longer have the instructions, have a look here:
