Ziza,

Thanks for the information oh how to make the line around my photo. I will be working on some of them tomorrow and I will try doing it that way. It sounds like a better way than the way I am doinig it now, which is using the pencil tool.

Jerry

Jerry, you are most welcome! I am glad to help.

I think i missed something - did you figure out how to position it to print where you want? On my printer - when i send it to print - i can move the image - it comes up as a default to print in the center of the page but you can uncheck the center image box and move it to how you want it for folding purposes ... hope this helps ....

Hello,

I want to create a photo card using one of my photos. I want to put a 4x6 photo on a 8.5x11 sheet of photo paper. I open up the Editor with a blank sheet and then I pasted the photo on it but it is pasted in the center and I can't move it to where I want to. How canI change the position of the pasted photo? Also, I want to put a then colored line around the photo. How can I do that?

I am posting a photo of what I am trying to do. Please help me if you can.

Thanks,

Jerry

Jerry, are you by any chance using the "Hand" tool to move the image?
I opened the image into PSE just fine. Selected the move tool (looks like a + sign with an arrow pointing up and left) and grabbed the image with that to drag it around the background.

Instead of just using PSE or other photo processing program, I often use a combination of programs. I will get the picture set as I want it displayed and save it as jpeg; then open a word processing program and insert the picture. I then can place it on the page where I want, and size it as I want, but also capable of putting in any type of wording on the page. The best part is that using a word processor you can have the type (wording) surround the picture (centered, top, bottom) , or left or right margin it, or even have the type go over the picture.

Once you get the page set to your liking, you can print on any type of paper you put in the printer, or take to a photo shop to have it printed. You can print in 3x5, 4x6 cards, 8x11.5 or any size you.

Just a thought.

hi. If you are using elemet.

create a blank document for your size (8X10 or what ever)

1 go to file and select Place then select your image and resize to your required size

1. kep on placing images.

also...make sure both the canvas and the photo are the same magnification. Look in lower left corner and it will tell you the sizing for each. then use your plus or minus tool to make them both the same.

I use Elements 11 - I open my image, click on Edit, scroll down to Stroke - when box opens, choose size and color you want for the line, then click OK.

Ka2azman, why switch between programs? Anything and everything you describe here can be done in PSE. Plus a whole lot of other things, like drop-shadow, or curving the image as so many photos do when they are not stuck in an album...

You people are amazing. Even though I've taken a couple of photo shop elements courses, I find new, helpful tips almost every day. This forum is great. Thank you!

I agree with you relie. There are some very knowlegable people that use this forum, and they will take the time to help answer questions for you. They will also suggest things that might help but you never even thought about. Thanks again for all of the help from everyone.

I agree with Ka2azman
I'd switch to WORD and paste it there and finish it there.
Maybe it's because I don't have PS or PSE and I'm more familiar with WORD than all these fancy Photo programs!
Am I a traitor? Perhaps!
