Need glasses to view the LCD screen on my camera but I don't like to use them to look thru the viewfinder. Can I purchase non perscription magnifiers with flip up lens??

I use these when doing delicate work such as fly tying. Not expensive but they work well for what I use them for.

Never thought to use them to view an LCD because Canon can magnify the focus point 5 or 10 times but they might work well for doing that. If you try it let us know how they work.

That looks clever. The whole plastic piece is a magnifier, so you just swivel it to get the focus right. I have a similar thing, but it has two separate lenses to focus.

Jim's idea looks pretty good, however I did buy the makeup glasses and they flip down, not up and I can't use them. I have learned to look through my glasses and use a hoodloupe (When I remember to get it out).

Jerry,

The head strap will hold two magnifiers if you want to. In other word you can put in the 1.2X and a 3.5X giving you a total of 4.7X. For what I use it for I have never had to do that though, I have found using just one lens seems to work well for me.

I just tried using the 2.5X magnifier lens on live view on my 50D. It seemed to work fine, it is just something I never thought to try before. I did learn one thing though, I need to fill my feeders!

It's the glass lens that bumps the rubber cup on the viewfinder. On a bright sunny day I like to push the rubber cup tight against my eye so I can get a good view. I'm using an electronic viewfinder and it's not the same as an optical.
