We had Chef Boyardee and then Pizza Hut in Algona. That should count, too.

I loved Chef Boyardee, but my Mom’s recipe for her spicy meat sauce topped all sauces and still does. Vic’s Pizza opened in 47’, two blocks away, and is still there. It’s now 55 miles from me, but I still go there.

Mine was Pasquale's in Fort Dodge and there was one in Humboldt too!

I do! My dad worked at Hormel's for awhile after the one in Fort Doge closed. I remember a restaurant called Sister Sarah's.

Yes, a place to go for special occasions. I haven't been there for quite sometime. I do remember some concerts in Ft. Dodge in 1967-1969.

In the past, I have been known to open a can of Chef Boyardee and eat the entire can with a spoon.

Most of these 6 pages (so far), plus, biting the wax top off a tiny "Coke bottle" and drinking the little bit of sweet juice inside.

I've wondered that myself, but her mother was very territorial about the kitchen. That was her area. My Grandfather took care of the farm (half section) and she put the food on the table. She was quite a lady. She had a chicken coop full of chickens that laid eggs for sale and consumption. However, there was no sentiment. I saw her chop off the head of several chickens when needed dinner. As a young kid I was amazed at seeing a headless chicken fly.

I remember mom chopping a chicken also . She always did it behind Granpas shack.

My one speed Radio Flyer bike. With "gas tank" on the top rail.
Now, maybe it wasn't a Radio Flyer. Was it from Firestone? Anyway it had a "gas tank" and was the right size for me.

I removed the shifter from the column and moved it to the floor after I had to crawl under the car on a cold wet day to un-jam the linkage. Even with a bench seat ( I do like these) it made shifting easier.
I miss small local companies. I miss the simple automobile engines before the computer age. I miss scanning newspapers and mail inserts for paper coupons. I miss having a grocery budget that was realistic, not a week's wages. I miss quiet restaurants where everyone wore decent clothes and removed their hats when they sat. I miss manners, courtesy and consideration.

Nice list!! It WOULD be nice if eggs didn't cost their weight in gold.
