Around 1963 sometime, my parents bought me a 4-door 55 Olds Rocket 88 beast that was close to being painted faded John Deere green. Bench seats, large diameter steering wheel, and no seat belts made for an interesting combination when I occasionally took a corner or curve a little too fast. How do you control a hulking car like that while sliding across the seat?
I miss my Mom and Dad plus the several good friends I've had.
To many to list, I miss everything from the 50s, up to the early 60s, then everything started going downhill.
Beautiful. I still have a '67 Impala, but it is not the same as the '67 Chevy convertible I had in 1969.
My Mom, Dad & Brother.

I mostly miss my "youth".
After both hips being replaced (which turned out well) but dealing with neuropathy in my feet and hands, that's what I miss the most.

OH yeah! My first car, too - '67 Chevelle Malibu, 3 on the tree, 2 doors, bench seats, straight 6 engine, hub caps that looked like soup bowls. Don't recall how many miles I put on it, though.

My first baseball glove was a Stan Musial. Before winter I would pour linseed oil my father gave me in the pocket, put a baseball in it and wrap a string around the glove to close it up. Then I’d put it under my mattress at the foot of my bed for the winter. When spring time came I couldn’t wait to unwrap my glove and go out to play ball.
I just put a smile on my face. Those were wonderful days.
I'm 65 and I honestly don't miss much of that at all.
While I miss a daily newspaper somewhat, based on what news agencies have become, I don't miss it that much. In fact the last few years we actually got a physical newspaper, it was a waste of money. If I feel the need to read what is in a newspaper, I'd rather look at the online edition. That way I don't have to throw it out.
As for Stan Musial....while I appreciated his talent, being an old Milwaukee Braves fan, I don't miss him at all....not one bit. LOL
