The main reason that I went to Farmington Bay last week was to check on the heron nesting at the Eccles Wildlife Education Center. Our local power company, Rocky Mountain Power, has installed nine long poles with platforms to allow the GBH a place to nest safe from land based predators. As you can see in #1, the pricy high-level spots have already been taken.

Mating and hatching are well under way as seen in #3.

Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Seeing something like this is a first for me. Probably be able to get some good in-flights while they come & go.

How interesting, and what a great project that RMP has undertaken. It is good to know that our birds and wildlife have gained the interest of "big corporations."

Good to see these images.
