Hmmm? Spain in 2026? Maybe I'll figure out how to get good eclipse shots by then with my new filter, which didn't get ANY use in Texas.....Canyon Lake was CLOUDY!

Yes, that's what I had planned on.... a nice paper weight if nothing else. But I just checked on the August 12, 2026 total eclipse in Burgos, Spain. We have friends who just moved/retired to Portugal, so maybe it will be a good trip to visit them then.

Solar flares.
Other than that, mine has sat on a shelf since 2017.
Don’t even know if there is a market to sell it until the next eclipse in Spain.

It is NiSi solar filter ND100000 (5.0)
16.6 Stops UV/IR Cut PRO Nano
I opened it and put it on my lens and then put it back in box to wait for the eclipse. It was cloudy and I never had an opportunity to see the eclipse with my eyes or use my equipment. So it is used but unused if that makes sense. I don’t remember exact cost and am looking for receipt. How can we proceed?

You can take pictures of the International Space Station as it transits the sun. I've done that several times since I acquired my solar filter for the 2017 eclipse. The challenge is being in the exact location at the precise time to see the transit. You might also be able to catch the much smaller Chinese space station if your lens is long enough.

There are web sites that give you the solar disc crossings.

As someone mentioned above, the sun has been very active recently causing some to believe we'll reach maximum solar activity soon. The sun has a 11 year cycle from minimum solar activity to very active solar activity with a lot of sun spots. We had a solar minimum in 2018 - 2019 and the expected maximum solar activity was expected to be in 2025. If you check www.spaceweather.com it will show sunspots on the left side of the home page. It comes out daily. They also send out a subscription texts to alert you when weather satellites when send warnings when a burst of energy (CME) is blasted out from the sun. It has allowed me to catch the aurora borealis in Colorado on a couple of occasions.

Hi Bill Seng here
I said I couldn’t find my receipt and I didn’t so I went back to place of purchase to get a receipt. I told them about never using it and they offered to refund my $$ fully. I was surprised and happy and grateful for their understanding. Thank you for your time and consideration
