Heard and listen and I know that it will center it. The issue was that the pointer should not move from the last picture taken. That was the essence of this discussion, centering requires an additional step to move to a new location.
The old days, a camera had one button to push; the shutter release; it had a preset f stops and shutter speed and use the left hand to focus as you are ready to push the button with the right index finger.
Now I need to worry about locking the AE and AF and then on top finding the button to center the focus point and then again putting it where it was the last picture I took. NUTS, I only have one finger on the right hand to do all that. Thank G'd for autofocus.

This is a thread about a shortfall of the Z6 and Z6-2, for which no one has yet found a solution. If you find one, post it.

Well it's good that at least you have grasped the title of the thread.

But I somehow doubt that will make any difference to the lack of understanding you demonstrate regarding the Z6 controls.

It’s not your age. The others are making schidt up, lacking any direct experience with the situation. It’s an ancient sacred UHH tradition.

We are not making anything up. You are just hell bent on being wrong. And most of the repliers, myself included, are owners of Z6 & Z7 for at least 18 months.

Since you are so-o-o disappointed in the Z6 (and I do know what I am talking about, since I have owned a Z6 and Z7 longer than you knew they existed) ... why don't you just send it back, get a refund and quit whining like a baby? Or do you just prefer to stay an ignorant horse's ass that cannot read a manual, much less a forum thread?

Who said I was disappointed? I am not, and I am keeping my Z6. As a matter of fact, I am buying another Z6ii or Z9 if they come out soon.

BTW, I owned this one since October 2018; is that long enough?

I tap my screen to set it where I want it then raise to my eye.
It's an oly 10 ll.
And even my d5500 wanders off as well.

Found this thread while searching for a way to lock the focus point on a Z6ii.
Something that I did not see mentioned is to disable the touch screen. Less than perfect, it's the only way I could find to prevent my nose from moving the focus point off center.
Setup Menu > Touch Controls > Enable / Disable.

I want to be able to lock my focus point in the center so it doesn't get moved around accidently.

I know this is old news by now but I just got a Z611 and one of the first things I tried to set was the focus lock. There isn't one. I have been all over the internet and unlike the Nikon DSLRs they didnt put a focus lock switch on this camera. Super annoying. What were they thinking?

They were thinking how much fun they could have with all the illiterates that over populate forums like this. Have you read much of the previous pages ? Thaz where the fun is. Pay special attention to the avatars. They tell you much more than the text !
