For those tossing out judgement, I didn’t post this for that or to invite me being trashed in some manner. It was just a reminder that mistakes can be made and care needs to be taken in these deals. Let’s just let it rest at this having been on both me and the buyer. Thank you.

But this is UHH where things go haywire pretty easily.

I sold a champion bred horse one time for $45,000.00 and they showed up with it in 20s. I didn't count long until I said I just wasn't going to do that. I told him that if it wasn't right (too much or too little) I knew where to find him and I would show up there. It was all there.

That’s a lot of money to not make sure to carefully count it all. Glad it was all there. I’m not crying over the $100.00. It was just disappointing and I’m ticked at myself for not being more careful.

Well, I knew I wasn't going to LOSE much because we got the horse for $6,500, kept him 6 years and raised about 25 babies of his and other people paid to raise about 50 more of his.

Funny you should say that about being ticked at yourself. If I am EVER ticked, it's always at myself. LOL!

Always check your grocery store receipt as well. I have noticed that at the stores here where I live if there is an error . . . it almost always an error in favor of the store. Could this be a coincidence or!!!

This is not unusual.

Often, in the grocery store, you'll see the same item in two different places with two different prices. That's when you take a picture showing the item with the cheapest price and when they charge the higher price at the check-out, show them the picture (close -up shot with price) and when it was taken and they WILL lower it.

That’s interesting because recently I was at our Walmart and picked up an item. When I rang it out at the self-checkout register, it showed a different price than what was marked on the shelf. I told the attendant who called a manager who recommended I go back and take a photo of the price tag on the shelf. I did and they honored that price. All ya gotta do is show the proof.

Absolutely. I've had to do that at Walmart here so many times. Those phone cameras can save you some money over time.

You said the guy seems not dishonest.
You’ll probably get back your $100 by check in the mail.

I sold a camera the other day, along with some other gear and a camera back pack the other day to a gentleman. When he handed me the cash we both counted it out and the deal was sealed. As he left, I counted it again and found I had miscounted the amount. I ran outside to alert him, but he didn’t see me as he started to drive off. It cost me $100.00, but left me wiser. Count it once, twice, and then a third time. Somehow we both miscounted. I did contact him via FB Messenger and he said he’d like to make it right, but we’ll see. He lives in Anchorage so we are 40+ miles apart. It’s a hard lesson, and partly my fault. Folks, use this as a lesson and please be careful when you sell a camera, lens, gear, or for that matter, anything, and make sure you very carefully count the cash. I don’t think this guy was dishonest, it was just a mistake. Perhaps he was still distraught over the fact that someone had recently stolen his Sony A7 III.
I sold a camera the other day, along with some oth... (show quote)

I buy and sell LOTS of STUFF, this is NOT uncommon problem, SOMETIMES I GIVE more money and the BUYER corrects it - I am thankful to the buyer [ he was checking to make SURE he got want he wanted mostly, but I have never had a buyer NOT return the money ] ... AT your age, I say ... be at peace you are still UP and about and found someone who wanted to buy it at all... good luck

Count it as a (cheaper) lesson, than realizing after (the transaction), that you thought a $10 bill was a hundred.

I often get anxious at a cashiers station, and give the clerk $5 or more dollars than I needed to.

Thankfully, they are sharper than I am ang give me back the overpayment.
At 76 years old, counting money is not my best foot forward. May be I should just do ATM cards from now on.?

Stop kicking yourself, Wing Pilot.
