Beautiful set. I had the fortune to take photos of a lone buffalo on Catalina Island (California) that had broken out of his pen and was grazing in an open field. It was a daunting task getting close enough to photograph him as he is mean as heck. I had to hide behind a very short palm tree and shoot out of his sight. Had he spotted me I know I couldn't out run him and would have to ditch my camera and jump in the ocean. LOL

Love to see more images of these legends of the west. Thanks again.

Word of Warning. Don't approach them dead on from the front. approach from the side at an angle. take a few steps, stop and stand still. Keep your distance. If there are young calves with the herd.... really keep your distance.
They are very protective and will charge.

I had hoped that by going to Yellowstone in February I would be able to photograph buffalo covered in snow. Unfortunately for me, snowfall was light, the weather was warm, and the buffalo were scarce. At any rate, here are a couple I like.

Great set!

LOL, I would hold that thought, same as calling Pronghorn by the name antelope. Kind of interchangeable and deemed proper by many.

Your photos did not suffer from a lack of snow. I love the muted tones in your third one.

Out here in West Texas, we have Caprock Canyons State Park ( East of Lubbock and S.E. of Amarillo. The State buffalo (Bison) herd is headquartered there. Leaver your roller skates at home.
