The point is the last time remain in Mexico was in effect it stated “all asylum seekers must remain in Mexico” so those who cross should be ejected so tell me how if there is manpower to enforce the policy it would not have a positive effect to at least substantially lessen the flow in the short term (turn the spigot down). I agree that Congress needs to do their job to reform immigration and codify laws that are enforceable and control who enters and more importantly know who they are. You basically admitted that asylum is a total scam at this point by stating the reason the numbers were down in 20-21 was do to Covid and the lack of jobs. Let’s face it, nothing has changed geopolitically to warrant this huge uptick in asylum (except recent events in Hati) other than the fact that it is well known worldwide that asserting asylum and saying “the magic word” (as Groucho would say except it’s going to cost us a little more than the hundred dollars) and you’re in! If we had real concerns about asylum as it is intended we wouldn’t have left tens of thousands of Afghans who helped us for a decade.

Come back for the third or fourth time, suffer felony charges OR claim asylum. Yet they don't seem to claim asylum.
