Beautiful, my grandfather had a scale like that, used it to weigh burlap sacks of walnuts
Thank you! Did you ever jump on to weigh yourself? Where I used to work they had a scale to weigh boxed beef and often the workers would use it to weigh themselves.

I enjoyed the cat the most.
Thank you! Yes, cats have wonderful and varied personalities. The quote I have always liked about cats is: You aren't anyone until you have been ignored by a cat.
I'm no poet but here is a poem I wrote a few years ago:
The Cat
Who knows where the cat goes?
On padded paws, down silent halls,
Into the depths of darkness.
From Ancient Egypt's mystery came
And Left a likeness in the sand
Half man, half cat,
To guard the trove of
Rulers of the land.
Sleeping in the light of day,
At home in shadows of the night
In superstitions, fate has cursed it
Love and hate have both besought it
What is this creature Nature's wrought?
The Cat!

Old farms are a treasure trove of photo opportunities. We are very fortunate to have several in the Lehigh Valley and vicinity that date back over a hundred years, still owned by the original families. From the prerequisite farm cat to things like apple presses, these are items that make a farm special.
What a great find Mike. These are great. Thanks for sharing.
A farm well captured Mike.

Some people's trash are other people's treasure. Nothing more true than the things left in old barns. And you seem to have found a lot of them (with the exception of the chicken and the cat). Any significance to the Ferrari logo on the barn in picture #3? An acquaintance of mine actually found an old chassis from a Ferrari race car from Monza in a barn in Ohio many years ago.
Nice. As a kid, I remember walking thru my grandfathers barns (it had been a flourishing turkey and chicken ranch in the 1940’s.
I could imagine the all the farm activities and hard work and sweat that grandfather put in seven days a week, to pay the bills and pay for that ranch.
The quiet of the barns was glorious!
