Is there really still confusion about amount of daylight when clocks are changed forward/backward?

Will it still work in 2028?
Do I have to purchase any updates as they come out so I don't lose anything to obsoleted time tech?
No purchase necessary, just watch and wait for time changes to get stored up in the Feb 29th bin...

Oh really?
Every time someone says that we get " an extra hour of daylight" I tell them about global warming. And every time, they respond "There is no change in daylight".
Exactly. The whole "extra hour of daylight" argument is bogus.
Extra hour in the EVENING taken from the MORNING.
Same amount of daylight time, simply shifted by,
you guessed it, one hour.

Hold on to your hat... climate change of late is measured in decades and not millennium. We have changed the atmosphere in ways that have not been seen during the time there have been people on earth. There is a direct correlation of CO2 and earth temperature. We have no idea of how this will end up. Once it starts, it may not be possible to stop.
Still warming, humans may be accelerating it since the Industrial Age, but it's still inherently warming.
Yea, we have 25+ MPH winds here today......

The hot weather caused more intense and frequent storms.

Stands to reason, water evaporates faster, and therefore builds up faster.
A side effect from the warming.
A bigger problem is the warming of the polar areas. This causes the polar jet streams to become unstable and has the effect of bringing cold weather to the southern areas. In addition, the changes in weather patterns will bring excessive rainfall and drought periods to other areas. It's a real big problem and it could get a lot worse.
Since photosynthesis breaks CO2 into C and O, They need to stop clear cutting forests.
That will only address a small part of the problem. We have to get away from using fossil fuels... coal, oil and gas. They all contribute.
Like it or not, EVs will become a much bigger part of the future... but, they only work well if the source of the power in not fossil fuel based.

Did your grandfather care what time he got up? He just got up 1 1/2 hours before sunrise and it didn't matter what the clock said. I am for changing the starting time and quiting time but not changing the clock.
Argument against that = either keeping multiple sets of signs and the cost of changing all the schedules.

Were the students pretty quiet?
If they were like mine when our school started before full light, about 1/2 were quiet and the other 1/2 were snoring. We had a 7:20AM sign in year round, 7 period day with a Zero Period and an 8th period taught by volunteers for extra classes to relieve the over crowding. We had 4,000-5,000 students at the start of the school year on a campus built for 2500, so some teachers rotated to the rooms of others during their preparation period and the 0 & 8th. Many teachers taught extra classes. Some students started their day in the 0 period, some ended in the 8th period and some did both, plus taking intersession (aka summer school). That way, a hardworking student could graduate after less than 3 years.
There is a steady 10% of the population which is untrainable...and that's just those who try to enter the military. The last institution that gives bona fide IQ tests (for obvious reasons).
So yes...confusion every time...and by more than that 10%.
