The stump we brought home was pretty small.
From what our friends said, the Crater Lk. stump must have been pretty tall when they first started taking pictures of themselves in front of it.

Here's some follow-up from one of my previous "Stumps" posts (cutting down of trees in yard in 2012).
The old ivy covered stump may be as old as 100 years. This community is well-known for it's logging history starting in the late 1800s and going through the mid 1920s (as I recall). I have a feeling that this one stump may have been logged back that far. There were also stumps still remaining in the field adjacent to us until two years ago when they started building homes there. I've taken fairly recent pictures with the deer there but the stumps were covered with growth and unidentifiable.

When this cedar was taken down, it was hollow (not uncommon) so planted this shrub in it...
