Yes, it's crucial to have 2 tools to shoot instead of just 1: it makes it simpler a fast moving "talent" becomes suddenly still

Although I do own a S&W .38, I have never in my 75 years felt the need to carry it. Perhaps I’m naive.

Perhaps so. Why do you own it if you don't carry it? I Just turned 70 two days ago. And feel even more certain that I should carry. I'm a pretty big guy (six feet 225 pounds) and retired military with self defense experience. But I know, that at 70 years old, I'm not as physically capable as I once was.
Every day, many times per day, assaults happen. Especially on senior citizens. It gets worse every day! And the Cops can't be everywhere.

A couple of wide rubber bands. I used to carry filter "wrenches," but I've found that rubber bands work just as well to remove a stuck filter.

As a retired cop I can't agree with you more. I don't have the statistics and it is not worth me looking them up but I believe more criminals are killed by citizens carrying a firearm than by the police who get there AFTER the shots are fired. Many times the act of citizens just displaying a firearm leads to no crime happening that day or not to that citizen.

Dennis

You are absolutely correct Dennis! The media refuses to publish incidents whereupon a citizen prevents or terminates a crime from being committed by his use of a lawfully carried firearm. It happens over a million times a year.

I carry a roll of black electrical tape. Comes in handy when you need to secure something that is unsecure.

I used to carry gaffer's tape. Unlike electrical tape (or duct tape), it leaves no sticky residue even under the worst conditions.

With a lot of the old .45 ACPs that would be perfectly normal. Now, if you couldn't hit a six-pack at 30 feet...

Yep! I had to qualify semi annually at the range when I was in the military. With those 1911 .45's with @100K rounds through them it was pretty tough. A six-pack is about the size of a man's chest!

Me too!! But a couple times just having it in hand was all that was needed!

Although, I'm not a fan myself of off body carry.

Me either! But sometimes concealed carry or open carry isn't an option!

It's just common sense if you are lugging $5-10 M in equipment with you. I'd carry if I were lugging that much cash, so why not the same rational with cameras.

I'm not sure what you are saying? The .45 is for personal protection, not for camera gear or cash.
