Now that's an eclectic set. Nicely done

Thanks Jack! A microcosm of my efforts to find our Snow Geese...

I came across the Trumpeters on my way to Fir Island, just 50 yards off of Interstate 5(Canada to Mexico freeway)
All others, shot on Fir Island, Skagit County, Washington.

It was wonderful to be out in the sunshine, short sleeves and zero wind or rain!! Woohoo!

Rob

Good shots, Rob!

Nice captures Rob, still not quite short sleeve weather here in the Sunshine State.

Thank you, Ann.
Short sleeves that day had everything to do with a sunny, almost no wind kind of day here in the PNW. Had I been sitting still or any little breeze picked up, a light jacket would have been in order. It was a mere 55 degrees while shooting.
Here in Washington that's all the reason I need to doff the jacket and enjoy the rays. I've been told, in Florida 60's weather is sweater weather. Truth is I have a good layer(or two) of insulation that may have played a role my clothing choices....

Very nice varied set. It's definitely short-sleeve short weather near Tucson

I'm sure it is in Tucson, Jim! Sadly this was a fleeting couple of hours on a very unusual February day in NW Washington, but I'll take it!
Thanks for the compliments, always good to hear from you!

Nicely done, Rob. Don't you know it's against federal law to depict Bald Eagles in compromising or less that regal circumstances?
I keep seeing Trumpeter Swan photos from the PNW! I don't know that I ever saw any in the fifteen years that I lived there?!
I love the photos! Including the F-18, feathered or not!

That F-18 was screaming at about 8,000 feet I'd guess, but I was quite happy with grabbing a decent image, thank you!
As to the federal law, ooops!!! Perhaps I should be worried about the secret service coming a knocking?!!
Let's debate compromising or "less than regal".... Nah....
I guess if they see fit to prosecute, I'll have to go into hiding. Perhaps in a storage area of your RV?
Trumpeter's have been all over the "Valley"(Skagit Valley for the last 11 years). Not sure if they made their way onto the Kitsap Peninsula or not?
What I can say is those Snow Geese are beginning to p^%% me off!!
I don't get a lot of good weather+time off+no other obligations to get their 2024/23 shots and in a month or two they will all head north again....!!
Ahh complaining about 1st world problems, I really have crossed the line now.
Thanks so much for taking the time to comment, sir! Always appreciated!

That F-18 was screaming at about 8,000 feet I'd gu... (show quote)

Well, if it comes to it, you would be welcome in any of the storage units in the RV! Might be a little close, but we could re-arrange stuff to make it work! And around meal time, after taking a careful look around, I would let you out for about six minutes to pound down some chow. How long do you think you would be needing refuge? I might have to go food shopping. Any favorites?
On a less serious note, yeah, I've seen Trumpeters in Alaska many times. Do you have a heavy coat?

You made good use of a "good weather day", Rob! Love your #3 shot of the tidal slough and particularly #6 with the back-to-back pose - are they showing each other the "cold shoulder" or are they on separate look-out duties?

Thank you Joe! I wasn't too sure about the slough shot but it grew on me. As to the pair of eagles, I think your separate lookout duties is the answer. They declined comment at the time of the shoot, but 360 degree vision is always helpful for opportunistic predators!
