It may the first third-party-allowed Canon RF lens that folks may actually want. Sigma is also set to announce new lenses on Feb.20/21 , that also may be for RF mount, as well as Nikon Z-mount, L-mount (Leica, Panasonic, Sigma), and Sony E-mount .

Great news for us all.

Cheers and best to you all.

Not unless someone knows of dark sites that are not isolated and creepy - no milky way photography for me.

Couldn't say without trying one first having nada experience with anything wider than 14mm. Sounds like it couls be a fun lens.

Priced likely around $700 USD for the Laowa 10mm f2.8 Autofocus rectilinear lens.

Laowa lenses are known for excellent image quality, but have been mainly manual focus until now. This may be an excellent autofocus ultra-wide rectilinear lens for many applications.

Great news for us all.

Cheers and best to you all.

Ive used the 11. The 10 wont be too much different. I find it to be useful in very tight claustrophobic quarters. Its rather useless outdoors for wide terrestrial views. Maybe astronomy would be its outdoor strength ?

Ive found no need of AF at such short FLs.

My 15mm F2 Laowa is wide enough for me and If I find myself in a very tight space I shoot verticals and stitch then together.

Just not a Prime that's going to plug a need with my shooting style.

It looks to be quite an improvement in Laowa's wide angle line up.

Moving the bar from F/4.5 to f/2.8 is no easy trick. This one looks like a real winner.

But I'm satisfied at 20mm...so no.

I was hopeful, but I was wrong about Canon.

The dreaded Canon Cripple Hammer strikes again: Canon wont let this be licensed in autofocus RF-mount, sad.

The lens will be available in autofocus versions for Nikon Z-mount and Sony E-mount. But will only be available in manual focus versions for Canon RF mount and Leica L-mount.

If you want to shoot with inferior equipment, you have lots of choices. The OP of this thread will lead you there.

I have settled with a company that doesn't decide what lenses I'm allowed to purchase.

Ironic how you used the 'Apple' defense...

Shows how little you know about Laowa lenses. There have been a massive presence for top professional quality video lenses for years, and for excellent image quality manual focus ultra-wide still lenses and amazing macro lenses.

You are just showing your ignorance here, again. There is loads more to the photo world than just Canon OEM gear, LOL

You need to better educate yourself before putting your foot into your mouth, again .LOL
