Laowa 10mm f2.8 Autofocus lens coming Feb. 20 for Nikon Z-mount; L-mount, Sony E-mount and YES finally Canon RF mount. Are you interested if it has excellent image quality and low distortion in a rectilinear lens ?

It may the first third-party-allowed Canon RF lens that folks may actually want. Sigma is also set to announce new lenses on Feb.20/21 , that also may be for RF mount, as well as Nikon Z-mount, L-mount (Leica, Panasonic, Sigma), and Sony E-mount .

Great news for us all.

Cheers and best to you all.

Priced likely around $700 USD for the Laowa 10mm f2.8 Autofocus rectilinear lens.

Laowa lenses are known for excellent image quality, but have been mainly manual focus until now. This may be an excellent autofocus ultra-wide rectilinear lens for many applications.

Great news for us all.

Cheers and best to you all.

Nice to see you've stopped yammering on about Canon not 'sharing' the use of their RF mount with third-party lens options.

Or perhaps it was the yammering that got Cannon to accept third-party lens. So perhaps yammering is a good thing, although not usually called that.

Lol, I was the one that posted in UHH many times that hopefully Canon was going to fully open up its RF mount, but I guess you have a selective memory, LOL, LOL

Let's see what happens this week with Laowa and Sigma. RF users have always deserved a fully open RF mount that Canon has been resisting and restricting stupidly, and not a one-lens-at-a-time Canon approval of a few lenses that no one wanted, LOL.

It has cost Canon worldwide in R body popularity. Now is the time for all that to change, hopefully.

Cheers and best to you.

No not likely, but there has been an outcry far beyond this one UHH forum.

Photography forums, Photography Facebook groups and photographers worldwide have been chiding Canon for its ridiculous position, and many around the world have publicly stated they moved off Canon R cameras for the lack of excellent quality third-party mirrorless-designed lens choices that all of Canon's competitors have embraced.

Time for Canon to part with past policies and give the buying public what they want. The overall worldwide camera market is shrinking, and folks will go where they can get what they need, and stay within their budgets.

Cheers and best to you.
