So, propose a constitutional amendment. Stop whining and do something productive, or maybe, support law enforcement clearing out the gangs in these communities and clamping down on the lawlessness we are seeing throughout the country.

That applies to lots of issue- like immigration law reform, foreign military hegemony. Wasteful government spending doesn’t it ?

Considering how easy it is to get, possess, and conceal a gun in Missouri, one might ask another question.
Why can anyone, possess and conceal a firearm with no permit?
The real question is: With more than 18,000 firearm deaths in this country last year, what is it going to take to pass some responsible gun laws?
The answer is: As long as the NRA keeps buying politicians it won't happen. It didn't even happen when Scalise got shot at a ball game, so what makes anyone think they give a shit about us.
The cops were there. There were 800 of them, yet ... (show quote)

In 2021 (one of the most deadly year on record) over half (54%) of gun deaths were suicide, 43% murder (obviously the vast majority being gang related) and 3% other (accidental, undetermined or law enforcement). Merely the number doesn’t tell the story. I am not against any law that can be demonstrated as effective but in California we have the strictest gun laws in the country a the “beat goes on.”

I think some people believe there should be a law enforcement officer present at every crime.
That shooting probably would have happened if there had been a thousand or more officers there.
People hate cops til they need one and guns til they need one. There were probably more, many more, armed civilians there than cops.

There were plenty of cops there, you can't stop a crime like the on in KC, but you can get those people off of your streets long before they start shooting in a crowd. The police in every community know pretty well who the bad guys are the problem is that our society is not willing to do what needs to be done to reestablish law and order.

What is it that you believe, "needs to be done"?

Well I have a novel idea fwankie. Enforce the existing laws and stop using gun charges as a bargaining chip. Those charges should be mandatory.

Stop and frisk seemed to save a lot of lives in NYC even though the liberals hated it, statically we know who is killing who, it may not be the prettiest solution but mothers should not be losing their babies either.

Heavier police and undercover officers in high crime areas and for God's sake stop importing criminal gangs over our southern border.

BUT, not having gun availability would have made a difference.

Similar thing happened in Australia, but instead of leaking names they made guns much harder to get...and gun violence plummeted and stayed there.

Young gangsters buy guns on the street or burglarize them.

You post uses a typical Trumpian tactic of ignoring the context of a statement and instead attacking the writer. So yes...Wow! That just happened.

Kinda like North Korea or China? The toothpaste is out of the tube so if you really want to put a small dent in the problem you should jettison confiscatory ideas and stop viewing the problem myopically.

I agree...guns are too available. If they were locked up properly a burglar couldn't get them, and they wouldn't make their way to the streets.

There's a reason they call I95 the Iron Pipeline.
Different rules for different states will never address the problem.
