I can see why it is there.
I saw mostly politically opinionated stupidity beyond disturbing. I thought it is shocking that people that should be mature, intelligent and open minded aware of realities in our world and country posting the stupidity and they vote and they breed !
It is more than the political social aspect but a reflection of how we can easily be manipulated.
Just look at the model vs. model posts here in main topic areas.

Only if they are rational. There are those who are irrational and state opinions that are not nor can they contain even a semblance of logic.

It sounds to me like you are agreeing with the tactic of “bothsidism.” Those of us that don’t want to dip our intellect into the discussions in the attic do not want to beat our heads against a wall, the “wall” being a free forum where a significant portion of the population does not, even remotely, attempt to validate their opinions. I find that there is typically a vast difference between how arguments are formulated between the left and right learners.

Of course they can be. The median is exactly the point of a population where 50% are above and 50% are below.

Slant??? It is a double black diamond ski slope.

And those are scary to just watch. I know from experience, our daughter at 9, on her second weekend of ski lessons, and one other student got their own instructor and were doing the Black Diamond slope at the Big Bear ski resort. I watched using my camera and tele lens. That run and most of the people on it were Evel Knievel replacements in training.

Folks, my opinion, the Attic is often good free entertainment. Occasionally you have to poke them with a stick to keep it going.

But there is a lot of valid thought there also, but manners-EH, Not So Much Doc!!!

PS: To those of you arguing about intelligence and IQ, I challenge you to try teaching Jr High or even High School for a while.

And I say who, but some here refer to some of us as "Old Geezers".

I am not an Old Geezer. I am a Grumpy, Grouchy, Cranky with a touch of Psycho Old Guy. Old Geezers have to gum their food, I have a mouth full of teeth (some are enhanced/altered but they are there and don't come out at night).
