I know that not everyone has deep pockets. That is not the point. The point is modern cell phones are better csmeras when used in manual mode than the D100 is. They are better in low light. They have all the necessary controls and they have a much larger file size just to name a few advantages.
The D100 was a good camera but it is a dinosaur compared to the I phone 15, the latest Samsung or even the google pixel and the beginning photographer most likely already has one of those so why spend the extra money until they are more advanced?
