Good to see you go out with the idea of fulfilling these “challenges “. I think you got it right. After it was pointed out about the green, I thought how could I have missed picking up on that. Of course I saw it once it was pointed out.

Great job and description! Something so seemingly simple has its own complex arrangement of color!

Thanks Frank. ctbsam guilted me into fixing that and making a few other tweaks. I posted the changed image. I'm happy with it

Ah geeze, no pressure!

OK, I think I got it all. Instead of contrast, I used levels. I also thought it would be fun to share what I started with (after a couple of extreme slides during ACR editing).

Many thanks, Sam!

Wow! You really massaged that original!

I was thinking of something a trifle different from what you got. Here, I rather sloppily selected the shadowed areas, and then used a curves layer to hold the darker stripes constant and brighten the brighter stripes, so the stripping in the shadows popped more - maybe too much more. It may have been worth the effort, or it may not; since its your image, you'll have to decide.

This is certainly interesting. The colour play is marvelous. As to the green, I like it. It's a very natural inclusion and is simply a reaction to the weather. It says to me this is real and not fake. I find the patterns of the dark intriguing, and I want to figure out what made those shadows. I've used clear panels in building sheds. It's a nice way to let in light without having to do windows!

Oh, I see now. I do like your version. Thanks so much, Sam!

Thank you very much, Kathy!

Did you see the screenprint of original I included further down page 1? They aren't shadows because the sun wasn't out Stains of some kind?

If I go past it again, maybe I can get a more definitive image

Very creative. I probably would have gone right by this barn, but you saw possibilities. Like your crop and the color scheme you chose, catches the eye nicely and shows the interesting texture lines.

Thank you, Bev! Looking for "limited color palette" helped a lot. I'm finding having a theme keeps me much more focused

Fits the theme; but the pattern of the shadows make this more than just a "fits the theme" image. I immediately started to wonder what is making those shadows? Buildings? Farm equipment? An then those two anomalies in white. What were they? Why white? This is a good image, Linda. I like it very much.
