You meant Starbucks? I do buy coffee from Starbucks and don't mind paying the extra but... the coffee I made taste better. I only buy coffee at coffee shop when I am lazy.

No, this is a little drive-up coffee shop on the side of the road.

[quote=jerryc41]Yeah, no more eating out for me.

Before I go out to a resto I always look at the menu (AND PRICES).

I went to one Mexican restaurant, normally they put a basket of chips and salsa on the table, at the end of my meal, I got the check and I saw they charged for the chips and dip. I did not Pay for them. I told the waitress that I "did not order the chips and dip!" and I refused to pay for something I didn't order. They deducted the charge. Restaurants, I am finding with try to get away with anything they can.

Yep. Don’t worry about chips and salsa. Wait ‘till your charged for a glass of water and a napkin. Be careful if you used the bathroom you will be charged a cleaning fee and need to pay for toilet paper.

Back in the 1970s, my wife's boss said he like to find a restaurant where they could get a meal for a dollar, and that wasn't an outrageous statement. I would occasionally go to a restaurant a few miles away and order the turkey dinner. Although it was very expensive ($2.75), it was delicious. When I was dating my wife, I brought her to a beautiful, fancy restaurant. When I looked at the menu, I was shocked. One of the cheapest things was a dinner for two for $15! Yes, it was very expensive, but I was trying to impress my girl.

I just went to the supermarket and got pork chops, chicken, grapes, sweet potatoes, and three ice creams for $29, close to what I paid last night for two hamburgers.
Back in the 1970s, my wife's boss said he like to ... (show quote)

When you go into a restaurant with a new date and find the prices very expensive, you simply say to her... I'm not particularly hungry, are you, fatty? :-)

I don't go to a restaurant without checking the prices first. If their online menu doesn't list the prices, I assume they are too much.

A lot of restaurants I often go to are too small and have no website. You may find the menu and prices by checking on Yelp and see if someone posted the menu pictures. But even then the menu may not up to date. They are generally not expensive.

I've been to Hawaii a few times. That's where they grow the very expensive Kona coffee. The places I stayed always provided some complimentary Kona coffee. Fortunately, I never liked it. I've tried some coffees on the "Best" lists, and I generally didn't like them. 30.6 oz of Maxwell House for $7.99 does me just fine.

Nothing to do with restaurants but....

I remember when I was young some public restrooms you had to pay a quater to use it.
At least at Aldi when you pay a quarter, you get it back when you put your cart away.

There is a place where I go on Monday nights called Burger Moe's near downtown St. Paul. There special on Mondays is a third pound burger with toppings and fries $7.99 plus tax and drink. Excellent food and you don't walk away feeling hungry. You are stuffed for the amount of food you are given.
