In that case, you can never again truthfully say "never" about putting your keys in your back pocket.

Because after you have found what you are looking for, you stop looking.

I keep a small tablet and write down where I put things. I also note if I move something from it's usual storage place and where it is. Saves a lot of hunting and frustration. Don't think that you will remember - 9 times out of 10 you won't.

Do you put the note in the spot your usually kept it? Then you would not have to check your tablet to see where it's new home is.

I can relate to that. Strangely, when I do find something that I have been looking for, I often wonder "Why the heck did I put it there?"

Or, "Why didn't I see it the first time I looked there?"

My wife always stresses to make notes. My answer is that if I am going to forget something, it just stands to reason that I will forget where the note is as well! This applies to things like grocery lists. Too often it has been in the car when I'm in the store. My solution is to take a photo of the list with my phone and even if I lose the list, I have it on my phone.

I make all my grocery lists on my phone. I also keep a page of things "to do" and places I need to be on my phone and erase them when done.

I've emailed a list to myself so I can access it on my phone. Most of my food shopping is done online. I place order, and someone comes out and puts it into my car. For an order of $125 or more, there is no charge for the service.

If I order groceries online, they put them inside my enclosed front porch. USPS, FedEx and UPS do the same and lock the door as they leave. I never worry about someone getting my packages.

I'm outside their free delivery zone. Actually, I don't know if the store delivers.

That's too bad Jerry. It's mighty handy and sometimes they even get the order right. (But if it's not right, they will make it up to you somehow.) Once I had a pound of ground chuck on my order. They sent me a whopping beg hen. When I called them, they said "keep the hen, your ground chuck will be delivered within an hour." and it was.

When I order from Hannaford, I have the choice of letting them substitute items for what is unavailable. I get 2% back on store brands, so that's what I favor. I love their cereal. Sometimes, that's dinner.

I have to look for my computer glasses/phone/keys every month or so.
As for gifts, I don't seem to lose them since I always put them in this one spot in the office closet.

I have a hook by the door for keys. I also have my key fob attached to a cord which is attached to a belt loop on my pants - both work pants and out-in-public pants.

I wear my $1.25 reading glasses around my neck all day.
