Agreed 100%! Tillamook is sold here in New Hampshire and it's only a buck more a half gallon than Breyers or Friendly's. All ice cream seems expensive now-a-days but it's a treat and I only eat a small scoop at any one time to make the half gallon last longer.

BTW before you buy any ice cream, check its ingredients. If the first three are something like "milk and non-fat milk solids, corn syrup..." stay away from it. Even "premium" ice creams like Breyers have cheaped out this way and I don't know how the FDA allows them to label it "ice cream." Tillamok's first three ingredients are "Milk, Cream, Sugar."

Working on that, but having just moved to MA, doctors are in short supply. Apparently there were a lot of retirements during Covid and a major medical group went out of business so people are scrambling to find a new PCP.

If it's a gallon, that's $4.50 for a half gallon, "pretty good." Stewart's on sale is now $4.16 for a half gallon, but I have no idea what their regular price is. $8.99 for a half gallon sounded ridiculous, but half that price is reasonable. I don't recall seeing ice cream for sale by the gallon.

For decades, ice cream was sold in half gallon packages. A few years ago, most companies switched to three pints, although some companies still sell a full half gallon.

Stewart's milk also costs quite a bit more. Even with their "Milk Club," you wind up paying more, despite one free gallon after you buy twenty.

OK- I'm still sticking with Stewarts because of the quality - the only better tasting milk I have had is from Battenkill Creamery, but that is more expensive than Stewarts and not as convenient to pick up. I buy 4 times or more as much milk as I do ice cream

I know that many doctors are not accepting new patients. Sad.

I went to the local supermarket to buy milk yesterday, and I saw Tillamook ice cream in the freezer. They didn't used to carry it. The price is $8.59 for three pints, the same amount that another supermarket sells for $2.99. So, I have a choice, pay $2.99 for three pints or pay $8.59 for three pints. That's a very easy choice.

What's funny is that the receipt says, "Boiceville Liquor Store," which is next door to the supermarket. I guess the liquor store bought the supermarket.

I think Tillamook comes in larger sizes than a pint, and I was paying about $6 for a quart or more.

Yes…a bit more expensive, but really good.

I gave it up to lose weight.

What I saw was 1.5 quarts - three pints - for $8.59.

So price trumps quality?

That depends. I've never met an ice cream I didn't like. If I'm buying a fire extinguisher or a parachute, quality is all that matters.

That's why I buy HEB now.

Love this ice cream. If you live in NJ near a Kings supermarket, it’s often on sale.
