And? What is the interest relative to photography?
I am getting five new tires for one of my old cars today. How does this concern anyone if not about photography?
Only if you forgot to purchase 'Tubes' that include 'Lens Caps' for the valve stems!!

I don't remember all the details but the gist of it is: The founder of FedEx submitted his business plan as some kind of college assignment and was ridiculed by the professor who said it was the silliest thing he had ever seen. The plan was to ship everything to Memphis and then redistribute from there, even if the final destination of the package was only across town. We all know how that turned out, but we also know the most expensive way to ship anything is by FedEx...
All too often when something is shipped through FedEx it ends up being transferred to USPS. I wonder, if someone still pays FedEx price when they don't actually deliver the item.

The USPS only delivers the "last mile" when FedEx uses them.
FedEx & USPS

FedEx & USPSWell, I seem to have pkgs reach Aurora, Co through FedEx then disappear into a USPS black hole for weeks on their way to Glacier Park, Montana. Quite a bit more than "last mile".

I'd like to know what happened to their saying "rain sleet or snow the mail must go through". We have had 1/4 in of snow and ice for three days with an informed delivery from USPS showing about twenty pieces of 1st. class mail and six packages. As of today nothing delivered, notice for packages says weather delay but was marked out for delivery.
My driveway is 1/4 mile long and we have been in and out every day with little to no trouble.
I'm currently waiting for my Christmas present, which my son, who lives near Houston, ordered a few days before Christmas (he knew it wouldn't get to me here in SoCal before Christmas, but I understood as he'd been traveling a lot leading up to the holidays). Anyway, it's now January 18th and I have no idea whatsoever where the item is nor when it might arrive. Below is the tracking record from USPS:
Yep..... after all this time, it's still at the carrier facility, You only think it was delivered
Anything that goes through the St. Paul USPS hub is a nightmare. You can track it as it bounces from bin to bin. Day after day. The local PO can actually SEE the item sitting there but cannot do anything to move it along.
Note that the item referenced in my last post, the Postal Service has admitted that it has no idea whatsoever where it's at. The vendor, from whom my son ordered the item, has filed a claims with the Postal Service and has promised to reship the item. We'll see if this one fares better than the first one.
