It's been a long time since I've seen a Bobwhite, so it was nice seeing your really good images, thanks for sharing.

Love your texas Bob white roosters...beautifully done, bubba!
Really nice photos of a species that was once plentiful in these parts (Northern Kentucky). Unfortunately, they are pretty much gone around here, mostly due to loss of habitat, but probably other reasons as well. We used to hear their calls all the time and I also was able to call them up into my backyard as a kid. I have also experienced the explosive nature of walking up on a covey in hiding and believe me, those shorts had to hit the "Biz Bag!" My Sportsman's Club used to raise and release chicks into the wild to help support their population, but they either didn't make it long term or they went elsewhere and the program has long since been abandoned. Too bad really!

👍. Love the last one with the bird looking right at you. Wonderful background and like the bird offset just a bit!

Thanks for your comments, Bud. I understand the life expectancy of Bobwhites is only 3-4 years. As a friend of mine commented years ago during a quail discussion "Quail, quail. Quail are the shrimp of the prairie. Everything eats quail. I would not want to be a quail."
